Page 174 PROCLAMATION NO . 36 / 1996 A PROCLAMATION TO AMEND THE INCOME TAX PROCLAMATION WHEREAS , it has become necessary to further amend the Income Tax Proclamation No . 173 / 1961 ; NOW , THEREFORE , in accordance with Article 55 ( 1 ) and ( 11 ) of the Constitution , it is hereby proclaimed as follows : Short Title This Proclamation may be cited as the " Income Tax ( Amendment ) Proclamation No . 36 / 1996 . " 2 . Amendment Sub - Article ( c ) of Article 12 of the Income Tax Proclamation No . 173 / 1961 ( as amended ) is hereby deleted and replaced by the following new sub - Article ( c ) : " ( c ) Any organization shall pay thirty - five percent ( 35 % ) of income tax on its taxable income . However , tax on income from mining by an organization shall be charged , levied and collected in accordance with the Mining Income Tax Proclamation .
