PROCLAMATION NO. 271 OF 1969.
A Proclamation to regulate the issuance of Travel Documents and Visas, and Registration of

ELECT OF GOD, EMPEROR OF ETHIOPIA
WHEREAS, the improvement of economic, cultural and Social relations among nations in the modern world requires the establishment of procedures governing the movement of persons
NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 34 and 88 of Our Revised Constitution, We approve the resolutions of Our Senate and Chamber of Deputies and we hereby pro claim as follows:
1. SHORT TITLE:
This proclamation may be cited as the " Proclamation regu lating the issuance of Travel Documents and Visas, and Regi stration of foreigners in Ethiopia, 1969. ”
2. Repeal:
Unless the contrary is clearly stated, all legislation, regula tions and orders previously enforced covering matters provided for herein, whether written or customary, including, without limitation, the Immigration Proclamation 1943 (Proclamation No. 36 of 1943) and the Foreigners (Registration) Proclamation 1944 (Proclamation No. 57 of 1944), are hereby repealed and replaced by this Proclamation.
3. Definitions:
In this Proclamation, unless the context otherwise requires: (1) “ child ” shall mean any person less than eighteen (18)
