PROCLAMATION No. 238 OF 1983
A PROCLAMATION TO PROVIDE FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF NATIONAL MILITARY SERVICE
WHEREAS, the objective of the Ethiopian Revolution is to put ar end to the exploitation of man by man and establish a socialist order in which, democracy, justice and equality of all citizens prevail ;
WHEREAS, the internal and external reactionary forces, whose class interests have been undermined by the victories of the Revolution have continued to make repeated attempts to stifle and sabotage the Revolution ;
WHEREAS, in view of these reactionary attempts, it is ne cessary to lay down a solid foundation not only for the reliable and durable protection and consolidation of the Revolution and the gains of the broad masses that have accrued therefrom but also for the realization of still further victories in the military and economic fields ;
WHEREAS, the establishment of a National Military
Revolution, defend the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Revolutionary Motherland ;
WHEREAS, the youth of Revolutionary Ethiopia can country in the process of the National Military Service ;
