OF THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA 9th Year No. 78 CONTENTS Proclamation No. 357/2003 The Basel Protocol Ratification Proclamation Page2278 PROCLAMATION NO . 357/2003 A PROCLAMATION TO RATIFY THE BASEL PROCTOCOL WHEREAS , the fifth meeting of the conference of the Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal ; WEHEREAS , the House of Peoples ' Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia ratified the Basel Protocol at its session held on the 3rd day of July , 2003 , NOW , THEREFORE , in accordance with Article 55 ( 1 ) Republic of Ethiopia , it is hereby Proclaimed as follows : 1. Short Title This Proclamation may be cited as the “ Basel Protocol Ratification Proclamation No. 357/2003 . 2. Responsibility of the Environmental Protection Authority The Environmental Protection Authority is hereby authorized to take , in cooperation with the appropriate Federal , Regional and City Government Organs , actions necessary to implement the Basel Protocol . 4. Effective Date This Proclamation shall enter into force as of the 3rd day of July , 2003 .
