PROCLAMATION NO . 114 / 1998 A PROCLAMATION TO PROVIDE FOR ACCESSION TO THE AFRICAN CHARTER ON HUMAN AND PEOPLES ' RIGHTS • WHEREAS , the Ethiopian Government is party to the principal International Human Rights Instruments ; WHEREAS , the Ethiopian Government has consistently expressed its support for regional and international efforts to WHEREAS , the House of Peoples ' Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has accepted accession to the African Charter on Human and Peoples ' Rights at its session held on the 2nd day of June , 1998 ; NOW , THEREFORE , in accordance with Article 55 sub Articles ( 1 ) and ( 12 ) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia , it is hereby proclaimed as follows : 1 .
