ORDER NO. 79 OF 1972
AN ORDER TO PROVIDE FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A CENTRAL STATISTICAL OFFICE
WHEREAS, it is necessary to secure factual data for the formulation and periodic appraisal of the implementation of plans, programmes, and policies of Our nation as well as the day - to - day requirements of administration; and

NOW, THEREFORE ,
accordance with Article 27 of Our Constitution, and on the advice of Our Council of Mini sters, We hereby order as follows:
This Order may be cited as the " Central Statistical Office Order, 1972 ”.
Repeal
(1) The provisions of all existing orders and regulations issued thereunder and other provisions whether written or customary pertaining to statistical matters provided for herein, are hereby repealed.
(2) Nothing in sub - Article (1) of this Article shall affect the Planning Commission Order, 1970 (Order No. 63 of 1970).
