OF THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA 9th Year No. 77 CONTENTS Proclamation No. 356/2003 The Basel Convention Amendment Ratification Proclamation Page 2276 PROCLAMATION NO . 356/2003 A PROCLAMATION TO RATIFY THE BASEL CONVENTION AMENDMENT WHEREAS , the third meeting of the conference of the parties of the Basel Convention held on 22nd September , 1995 adopted the amendment made to the Basel Convention ; WHEREAS , the House of Peoples ' Representatives of the Convention Amendment at its session held on the 3rd day of July , 2003 ; NOW , THEREFORE , in accordance with Article 55 ( 1 ) and ( 12 ) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia , it is hereby Proclaimed as follows : Short Title This Proclamation may be cited as the “ Basei Conven tion Amendment Ratification Proclamation No. 356/2003 . ” 2. Ratification of the Basel Convention Amendment The Basel Convention Amendment adopted on 22nd September , 1995 is hereby ratified . Unit Price The African Law Archive 3. Responsibility of the Environmental Protection Authority The Environmental Protection Authority is hereby authorized to take , in cooperation with the appropriate Federal , Regional and City government organs , actions necessary to implement the Basel Convention to im plement the Basel Covention Amendment . 4. Effective Date This Proclamation shall enter into force as of the 3rd day of July , 2003 .
