OF THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA 5th Year No. 32 ADDIS ABABA - 218 January , 1999 CONTENTS Proclamation No. 152/1999 International Labour Organization Conventions Ratification Proclamation Page 966 PROCLAMATION 152/1999 A PROCLAMATION TO RATIFY THE CONVENTIONS OF THE INTERNATIONAL LABOUR ORGANIZATION WHEREAS , in accordance with Article 19 of the Constitution of International Labour organization , a member state which accepts a convention adopted by the organization has to ratify same ; WHEREAS , the House of Peoples ' Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has ratified the conventions , adopted by the International labour or NOW , THEREFORE , in accordance with Article 55 sub - Articles ( 1 ) and ( 12 ) of the Constitution , it is hereby proclaimed as follows : 1. Short Title This Proclaniation may be cited as the “ International Labour Organization Conventions Ratification proclamation No. 152/1999 . ” 2. Ratification of Certain Conventions The following conventions of the International Labour organization are ratified 1 ) Private Employment Agencies Convention , 1997 ( No. 181 ) ፡ 2 ) Abolition of Forced labour Convention 1957 ( No. 3 ) Equal Remuneration Convention , 1951 ( No. 100 ) ; 4 ) Minimum Age Convention , 1973 ( No. 138 ) . Power of the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs The Minister of Labour and Social Affairs is hereby empowered to undertake all acts necessary for the im plementation of the conventions referred to in Article 2 of this Proclamation . 4. Repeal International Labour Organization Conventions Ratification Council of State Decree No. 37/1990 Article 2 ( 2 ) is hereby repealed . 5. Effective Date This Proclamation shall come into force as of the 21st day of January , 1999 . Done at Addis Ababa , this 21st day of January , 1999 .
