OF THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA 9th Year No. 8 ADDIS ABABA - 31 " October , 2002 CONTENTS Proclamation No. 296/2002 Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income with the Government of the Republic of Yemen Ratification Proclamation Page 1945 PROCLAMATION No. 296/2002 A PROCLAMATION TO RATIFY THE AGREEMENT DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF YEMEN FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBLE TAXATION WITH RESPECT TO TAXES ON INCOME WHEREAS , an Agreement for the Avoidance of of Ethiopia and the Government of the Republic of Yemen , in Addis Ababa , on the 1s day of February , 2001 ; WHEREAS , it is Stipulated in the Agreement that the shall notify to each other that the domestic constitutional requirements for the entry into force of the Agreement have WHEREAS , the House of Peoples ' Representatives of the Federal Domocratic Republic of Ethiopia held on the 31s day of October , 2002 ; has ratified said agreement at its NOW , THEREFORE , in accordance with Article 55 ( 1 ) and ( 12 ) of the Constitution , it is hereby proclaimed as follows : 1. Short Title This Proclamation may be cited as the “ Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income with the Government of the Republic of Yemen Ratification Proclamation No. 296/2002 ” . Ratification of the Agreement The Agreement between the gveret of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Goverment of the Republic of Yemen for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income signed on the 1 * day of February , 2001 , is ratified . 3. Power of the Minister of Finance and Economic Development The Minister of Finance and Economic Development is hereby empowered to implement the Agreement in cooperation with the concerned governmental organs . 4. Effective Date This Proclamation shall enter into force as of the 31 " day of October , 2002 . Done at Addis Ababa , this 31 " day of October , 2002 .
