OF THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA 5th Year No. 16 ADDIS ABABA - 8th December , 1998 CONTENTS Proclamation No. 135/1998 Agreement for the Amendment of the Agreement with the Republic of Djibouti regarding the railway line laid between Djibouti and Adddis Ababa Ratification Proclamation Page 911 PROCLAMATION NO139./1998 A APROCLAMATION TO RATIFY THE AGREEMENT CONCLUDED BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBIC OF DJIBOUTI WHEREAS , an Agreement for the amendment of the Agreement concluded on March 21st 1981 regarding the railway line laid between Djibouti and Addis Ababa was signed at Djibouti on the 23rd of February , 1997 between the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Government of the Republic of Djibouti ; WHEREAS , the House of Peoples ' Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has ratified the said agreement at its session held on the 8th day of December , NOW , THEREFORE , in accordance with Article 55 ( 1 ) and ( 12 ) of the Constitution , it is hereby proclaimed as follows : 1. Short Title This Proclamation may be cited as the “ Agreement for the Amendment of the Agreement with the Republic of Djibouti regarding the railway line laid between Djibouti and Addis Ababa Ratification proclamation No. 139 / Unit Price The African Law Archive 2. Ratification of the Agreement The Agreement signed between the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Gover ment of the Republic of Djibouti for the amendment of the Agreement concluded on March 21 " , 1981 regarding the railway line laid between Djibouti and Addis Ababa is hereby ratified . 3. Power of the Minister of Transport and Communications The Ministry of Transport and Communication is hereby empowered to take necessary measures for the implemen tation of the agreement . Effective Date This Proclamation shall enter into force on the 8th day of December , 1998 .
