ORDER No. 44 of 1966
An Order to Define the Powers and Duties of Our Ministers
WHEREAS, in 1943 We promulgated Order No. 1 under Article 11 of Our Constitution of 1930; and

WHEREAS, the promulgation by Us in 1955 of Our Revised Constitution provided the necessary basis for the ex pansion and simplification of the powers and duties of Our Ministers and the further development of a system of respon sible Ministerial government; and
WHEREAS, it has accordingly become necessary to amend Order No. 1 of 1943 ;
NOW THEREFORE, in accordance with Articles 27 and 66 of Our Revised Constitution, We hereby order as follows:
GENERAL
This Order Powers) (Amendment) Order, 1966 ".
Articles 1 through 21A of Order No. 1 of 1943, as amend ed, are hereby repealed and replaced by Articles 1 through 14 of this Order.
MINISTERS
Our Prime Minister is the head of all Our Ministers and shall be directly responsible to Us and the State for
